We are proud to participate in the Amazon Affiliate Program as one small way to support the work of Expeditions in Education. Many of the materials, supplies, and tools we use for STEAM in the PARK camps, classroom visits, engineering design challenges, and hands-on learning experiences are purchased through Amazon. When you shop through our links, a small portion of each qualifying purchase is returned to us — at no extra cost to you — and every dollar goes directly back into improving the experiences we create for educators and students.
From building better design challenge kits, to upgrading camp supplies, to adding new materials for school assemblies and outdoor learning activities — these purchases help us continually grow and strengthen our programs. Your support truly helps us bring richer, more meaningful learning adventures to classrooms and national parks across the country.
As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases when you use the links provided below.
Thank you for being part of our journey and for helping us keep curiosity, creativity, and connection to nature at the heart of everything we do.

Pocket Microscopes- We use pocket microscopes because they help students see the natural world in a whole new way. Through our Belly Botany work, students, educators, and families, get low, look close, and discover the tiny details in plants that most people never notice. These microscopes turn a simple walk outside into real scientific exploration — building curiosity, observation skills, and a deeper connection to nature. Every microscope we purchase goes directly into our STEAM in the PARK camps and school programs, helping students and educators experience science through wonder and discovery.

Paint Chip Poetry- We use Paint Chip Poetry at camp and in classrooms to help students, educators, and families slow down and truly notice nature. They match paint colors to real outdoor shades, then turn those color names into short poems. It’s a simple activity that blends observation, creativity, and connection to place — turning time outside into science, storytelling, and shared wonder.

STEAM in the PARK Journal- The STEAM in the PARK Journal was created to help educators bring nature-based STEAM learning into their classrooms. Used by our 2025 STEAM in the PARK educators, it’s filled with simple, ready-to-use ideas that blend science, art, engineering, and outdoor exploration. Purchasing this journal supports our programs and helps us continue creating resources that connect students, educators, and families to learning through nature.

LiChamp LED Camping Lantern- We use these pop-up battery-operated lanterns to bring the feeling of national parks wherever learning happens. At STEAM in the PARK camps, they glow beside tents, light up evening gatherings, and help create the magic of campfire sessions and night hikes. In classrooms, those same lanterns help us recreate national park environments indoors — transforming gymnasiums, libraries, and classrooms into immersive park spaces where students can explore, imagine, and learn.

Metal Tins- We use metal tins for Manet/Monet painting at STEAM in the PARK camps and in classrooms to blend art, observation, and nature connection. They head outside with their tins, watercolors, and brushes to paint the world as they see it — just like the impressionist artists who inspired the activity. They learn to notice light, color, movement, and texture in the landscape, translating real outdoor scenes into personal works of art. In camps, this often happens beside lakes, under trees, or along trails. In classrooms, we recreate that same experience by bringing natural objects, photos, and outdoor views into the learning space.

Shuttle Acrylic Paints- These paints are a favorite tool in our STEAM in the PARK art projects because they are simple, clean, and ready to use — no water needed.Students, educators, and families can open a tin and start creating immediately. The paints glide smoothly onto paper, travel easily in backpacks, and work just as well at a campsite table as they do in a classroom. They make it easy to capture the colors of nature in the moment — turning outdoor exploration into creative expression without extra setup or mess.
