DESIGN CHALLENGES
Another great advantage of virtual learning is the opportunity to get your students involved in public service. Here is a challenge that encourages students and families to give back to their community by finding a passion project. Depending on what your students choose, you can tie your standards to their work. If they decide to paint- teach area, perimeter, and measurements. If they decide to build an outdoor fountain- teach electricity and simple machines. You see, if we think through this- virtual teaching and learning could be a great thing AND when we get back into the classrooms, this type of learning can continue. Because after all, hands-on, real world learning is all we have really ever needed.
