Three years ago, we embarked on an incredible journey, fueled by our passion for education and our love for nature. It was then that we started our nonprofit organization, Expeditions in Education, with the mission to expand our reach and inspire as many educators and students as possible. Our muse and inspiration were the national parks, with their breathtaking beauty and boundless potential for learning.
From the very beginning, this venture became a labor of love for both of us. As a husband and wife team, some might have thought that working together 24/7 could be a recipe for trouble, but for us, it has been an absolute blessing. Although there are moments when we both just have to laugh out loud to mask our exhaustion of traveling. Don't get us wrong. We love it but we are only human. Our shared vision and dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of young minds have strengthened our bond and made us a powerful force. Behind the scenes, my husband, Steve, has been the true mastermind. He is the one who handles the intricate logistics and crafts the strategic plans that have made our initiatives successful. Without his expertise, none of this would have been possible. I am continually in awe of his brilliance and grateful for his unwavering support. As we have journeyed together, visiting various national parks and connecting with educators and students from diverse backgrounds, our excitement has only grown. The possibilities seem endless, and the thought of reaching new parks, engaging with fresh faces, and touching more lives fills us with joy. One quote that resonates deeply with us on this journey is, "Families that hike together, learn and grow together." National parks and nature have a unique way of bringing people together, fostering a sense of wonder, and encouraging curiosity. We have witnessed how these experiences have brought families closer and ignited a spark for learning in young hearts. It hasn't always been easy, as any worthwhile journey has its challenges, but our passion for education and nature has propelled us forward. We have learned to adapt and overcome obstacles, cherishing each moment of triumph and learning from every setback. As we move forward, our hearts brim with excitement and anticipation for what lies ahead. The possibilities are endless, and our commitment to empowering educators and students through the wonders of nature remains steadfast. Together, with love, determination, and the inspiration of our national parks, we will continue to change lives and make a difference in the world of education. If you know of an organization, company, foundation, individual, etc., who would be interested in investing in our passion, please let us know. Right now we have over 8456 educators on an interest list. expeditionsineducation.org
